Supply Chain Service Parts Planning lead

Location: Chennai, India

Job scope/summary:

The scope of Printing planning team is to plan, source and deploy Pan APJ the right printing commercial parts to our customers: Break-Fix (Onsite/Channel/MPS) / Part resales (PL91) / MPS supplies. The Services Supply Chain ships more than 9M parts, processes 650k whole unit repair events globally per year through an extensive network of outsourcing partners

The Supply Chain Planner will manage a given portfolio /product line associated to external HP vendor; he/she will plan inventories for APJ Network for the products assigned to drive high level of availability (TCE) within the inventory limitations, minimizing SC planning related costs.

Job specifics/responsibilities:

Planning actitivity for a specific portfolio:

  • Lead demand forecast, supply planning and inventory management activities
  • Manage planning team’s daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly planning activities, ensure output meets standards required to meet service level obligations, inventory and cost goals
  • Reviews performance metrics on a regular basis, identify opportunities for improvement
  • Develop and provide guidelines to team that meets regional and global standards
  • Mentor junior level staffs
  • Ensure part availability to support customer needs through demand and supply planning.
  • Regular meetings with partners, suppliers and suppler managers to improve supply availability
  • Meet inventory goals by setting inventory policies and targets that meet inventory budgets
  • Work on problems of diverse complexity and scope (New Product Intro, Life-Time Buys, Rolls, Upgrades, others)
  • Report planning performance of the team and business; timely spot deviations and launch effective mitigation plan
  • Conduct regular reviews with team and also actively participate in meetings
  • Typically interacts with managers, senior managers and directors

Finance/Cost and TCE accountability:

  • Manage planning related inventory Scrap costs (Excess & Obsolescence) –
  • Minimize Planning-driven costs (Inbound, exception, airfreight, rebalancing, reverse)
  • Share best practices among the team thru active participation in performance reviews or team meetings.
  • Develop Finance / Cost acumen linked to planning activity, understand the cost impacts and balance with TCE expected results; capture the committed costs in respective trackers (Non Prod PO, Air Freight, …)
  • Bring creative ideas to improve Cost and/or TCE Develop data analysis capability to prioritize actions that will strongly influence results.

Key deliverables/accountabilities:

  • Inventory: Gross and net inventory
  • Operational : Material availability & delivery performance (GLOS, LOF, LOA), Backlog including aged backlog
  • Finance: Portfolio cost optimization (Inbound, exception, airfreight, rebalancing, reverse …)
  • Meet commitments
  • Productivity and efficiency
  • Process quality and accuracy

  • Internal Supply chain teams like logistics, procurement, costing, tower, and country teams
  • IT and Analytics teams
  • Field & channel organization
  • Regional and WW procurement, PLM, and Engineering organizations
  • Sales, Category, MPS and part resales teams

Education (degree) and professional experience required:

  • High School /Bachelor/Master degree
  • Minimum 10 years of professional experience in Planning and planning related roles

Other requirements:

  • Fluent in English language
