About the job:
The Buyer – Secondary Packaging (AMEA) is responsible for managing sourcing, cost, and supplier performance for secondary (and where applicable tertiary) packaging within the AMEA region. The role supports business growth by ensuring competitive pricing, supply continuity, quality, sustainability, and timely support to regional projects and launches.
Scope (AMEA)
Regional responsibility: AMEA industrial sites (Tunisia, India, Vietnam, Japan & Australia)
Categories: Primary (in India only) , Secondary and Tertiary Packaging
Spend: Regional scope (aligned with AMEA footprint)
Close collaboration with regional sites, KSOLs, and global category teams
Main responsibilities
Strategy & Category Execution
Contribute to regional category strategies based on market intelligence, risk assessment, and business priorities
Support multi-year roadmaps to deliver savings, value creation, and competitiveness for AMEA sites
Ensure procurement excellence across sustainability, innovation, quality, compliance, and supply continuity
Actively engage with regional stakeholders (sites, KSOLs, Industrial Affairs) on specifications and sourcing choices
Operational Procurement
Manage tenders, negotiations, price lists, and supplier agreements within the AMEA perimeter
Monitor and support site budgets, savings plans, and project execution
Drive cost reduction initiatives (new suppliers, material substitutions, spec optimization)
Support sites on major supplier issues (service, invoicing, performance, escalation)
Contribute to new launches, technology adoption, and sustainable packaging initiatives
Supplier & Stakeholder Management
Support Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) with key suppliers in coordination with KSOLs and Global Category Leads
Act as a procurement business partner to AMEA sites and regional leadership teams
Ensure effective communication and alignment within the procurement community (“One Procurement”)
Collaborate cross-functionally with Finance, Supply Chain, Legal, Quality/Regulatory, Engineering, Science, CSO, and Growth teams
About you
Profile & capabilities
10+ years’ experience in procurement, supply chain, industrial, technical, or financial environments
Master’s / Bachelor’s from Engineering / Business / Supply chain Management background
Strong negotiation skills and cost-management mindset
Ability to manage change, deliver results, and operate in a multicultural environment
Strong communication skills
